Area of Operation for Operation Grab Bag

"I was branded a terrorist in saving an entire country, I had to blow up a school along with whoever was inside that wasn't infected with whatever that ████ was." He looks scared just thinking about whatever the ████ took those people over. "They told me it was SCP-610 or something. Some freaky ████ that took over peoples bodies. I got burned in the process, but that's kind of obvious." Jericho puts a hand over his right bicep. "Wasn't a fun experience."

"That's rough," Mark replied, starting to nervously fidget in his seat. What he went thought sounded like a nightmare, honestly. McHarvy started to worry what else the vase could do with it's memetic abilities. Could it make him turn on the others like that SCP-610 did? Would they have to put him down for the good of humanity if he did? He wanted to curse Abbott for even asking about Jericho's past, but he just let his foot start to bounce up and down as he let an awkward silence start to fall between them.

“You can say that again,” Abbott Coughs, leaning forward and paying to mind to McHarvy’s personal space. “A lotta things like that in the big black books the GOC and SCP Foundation like to keep stuff in.” She shakes her head. Thinking about the Global Occult Coalition right now was only going to raise nerves right now. “But… We’ll be fine. Don’t want to make a promise I can’t keep, but if you made it this far you aren’t dying on your first mission.” She smirks. “████… This is both of your first missions huh.” She tousles her grey hair. Was she getting old? or was America just perpetually full of Greenhorns.

Reed looks down for a moment before looking back at Banks, "████ man..I know what 008 outbreaks are like. Comes with being a part of Beta-7." He takes a drag of his cigarette, flicking it out of the of the open door on the helicopter. He stares out for a few moments before reaching to his left and grabbing a radio attached to the helicopter.
"Come in agents Abbott, Mcharvy, and Jericho, we have just entered into Venezuelan airspace, eta to LZ is roughly 20 minutes. ensure your gear is organized and ready, over."

Banks nods to the man, flicking his own cigarette out of the open door. He watches the red glow of its end, until it falls out of site. Leaning back into the chair, he slides his trench knife into it's holder. Making sure his pistols are hidden on him, his stare goes back to the man acting as the commanding officer of the op.

McHarvy heard Reed through the loudspeaker on the helicopter, thus hurriedly bent over and shuffled through his backpack. He pulled out a weathered looking swiss army knife. He gives it a shake and gives his two companions a smile. "Lucky," he informs them, "and useful." He slides it in his first pocket on his tactical utility belt, then double checks his extra ammo, first aid supplies, combat knife, and AK.
"Ready," he confirms.

"We read you loud and clear.” She says as Mcharvy’s finger lingers on the button. “Going to love to see how you survive on packing light,” She mutters as she slings her equipment back on herself.
As Mcharvy displayed his swiss army knife, she couldn’t help but stifle a laugh. These guys really were newcomers. It was cute. She shakes her head. “Lucky, huh? Okay then, tenderfoot.” She slings her pack on and brings up her shemagh. “We’ll see how lucky.”

Reed grits his teeth for a moment before responding, a sly grin on his face as he spoke, "Well, hopefully you can keep up while all that useless ████ bogging you down, don't worry though, I'll keep your spot warm though." He puts the radio back in it's proper place, checking his weapon and outfit, removing all foundation markings.

Taking out a red beret Banks puts it on, waiting for the chopper to begin its descent.  Slipping the slide out of his gun, he checks making sure it was full.  Nodding to himself he pushes the clip back in, placing the gun back in his lap he takes on final stretch.

McHarvy, seeing how Abbott was already annoyed, more like angry,  by what he said earlier, quickly took the radio from Abbott and said, "Yes sir. Read you loud and clear. Over," before quickly turning off the radio and placing it back in it's holder. He made sure Abbott stayed in her seat and was out of reach of the radio for the rest of the ride. He felt the helicopter start to descend and let her go once they hit the ground.

She had just finished replacing her patches before her ears catch Reed’s words. Her teeth clench as if a dog baring it’s teeth. She pushes and bumps against Mcharvy as her eyes dart at the radio like it is a punching bag. “Ta Gueule! You stiff assed, Banjaxed, Gobshyte!” She shouts, reaching for the radio to no avail, her French and Irish mixing to make a thick confusing mess. Even if she is able to get passed him, the seat belt keeps her locked firmly in place.

Once finished with ensuring his uniform is free of incriminating markings, Reed reaches into his bag and removes a black balaclava and slides it over his face, sliding his sunglasses back into place to ensuring no part of his face was identifiable. He looked over to banks once more, nodding his head in a silent gesture to look out of the helicopter and into the city. Below them was the mayhem enveloping the once great city of Guanta. large masses of people could be identified in the streets, as they moved as one large entity towards lines of soldiers in Riot gear. The scene looked like something out of a disaster movie, with all the fires and destroyed property.
"Look at this ████..fucking city is a mess. Did you know this place has been around since when the Spanish first came through? Now look at it," Reed grumbled.

Banks sweeps his eyes over the destruction below him, the fires below dancing in an almost hypnotic fashion. This place needed a lot of things not just rebuilding, that was obvious though. What you couldn't tell at a glance was that somewhere below there was an object that may have had a hand in this chaos.
"Wonder how many of them are rolling over in their graves," he asks directing his blue eyes back to Reed.

The helicopter hovered over the building waiting for them to jump off on to it. McHarvy went first. They were low enough so no serious damage could be made while landing, and he jumped just as he was trained too. He clung to his AK and jumped onto the hard concrete roof. As soon as his boots hit the roof he ducted into a roll then he jogged to the roof's entrance. There he stood there waiting for Abbott.

She jumps down after him, feet hitting the concrete and making a rough scratching noise as worn rubber grinds the concrete. She continues the landing on one knee, grunting as they get back to their feet with their slung Light Machine Gun. The weight was getting to her. She grit her teeth. She was still fuming at the admittedly good comeback. She rolls her shoulders and sighs. She'd get back at him somehow, and it would be best to keep her eyes on the prize. She could outperform him that way. She looks to Mcharvy. "Nice Roll. Wish I had the luxury."

Reed watched as the helicopter containing Abbotts and McHarvey hovered over the designated drop point. He chuckled as he watched the medic make a less than graceful landing after jumping, further emphasizing his point on her over encumbrance of gear. Tearing his eyes from the almost comedic display, he looks around and spots the green smoke pouring from a canister in one of the alleyways about 450 meters from Abbott's location. The senior agent looks over at Banks on last time, nodding towards the smoke so that he knows what it represents. As the chopper comes to a stop over the alleyway, Reed throws a repel rope over the side of the vehicle, watching it stop about five feet off the ground.

(OOC: Sorry for the long delay in response, school semester coming to a close, so work is piling on, as well as some personal issues in life taking up a good bit of time. Hopefully posting speeds should return to normal after today.)

Banks descends the rope, landing on the ground with a small grunt. Looking forwards in the alley he runs off in the direction of the green smoke. The empty alley echoed his hurried steps, looking ahead of himself carefully Banks scans for anyone who would take a potshot at him. Making out into an alley he books it across the street into the next darkened walkway between the buildings.

McHarvy nodded in response to Abbot's comment, not really in the mind set for small talk at the moment. At the entrance of the door, he breached the door and made sure the first landing was clear. He motioned for Abbot to follow, then lead the way down the stairs of the apartment building down to the street. McHarvy was focused on the task at hand and making sure he and Abbot got there safely.
"Operative McHarvy reporting into command. Buiding is clear we are beginning our descent to the street. Hold on command."
Just then, a man came out of an apartment half a level down from them holding a handgun in one hand and cradling something cylindrical in the other. He looked frantically around, spotting the two and started shooting. Mcharvy took cover behind a wall and finished reporting in.
"Command we have a hostile with something suspicious. Permission to go use deadly force?"

Abbott raises an eyebrow at Mcharvy before she rolls her eyes. Wasn’t this the kid’s first operation? And she was expected to follow him around? She follows him to make sure he doesn’t get himself killed. The Mcharvy was forgetting himself, and that got on her nerves.
As they get to the ground floor, Abbott takes a knee the instant she saw movement. As she saw the man with the handgun, she would already start to open fire at his legs. She knew the spread of her gun could be a liability in delicate situations so she keeps her aim low. Hearing Mcharvy call in the activity and ask for permission for deadly force finally got to her. “Stop arsing around! Haven’t you read the OP?” She growls before taking cover. She brings up her radio. “Cold Day, We believe we found the objective. Requesting a bitt-a surveillance. If this is our guy, we can’t lose ‘em!”

From Headquarters Mission Control for Grab Bag "Query Recieved, Cold Day. The Person in question is not clear to eye in the sky, but there are multiple hostiles in the area. IN the surrounding 100 meter radius there are 24 heat signitures that are bodies, we cannot identify allegience civilian or non civilian at this time the area is heavily jammed. As you remember there are two other forces in the area, when you get to the rendevous point the commms system will need to be set up further so we can get better detail. What I can tell you is that the object in question was last seen 3 km away you willl need to cross through slums to get there, try to conserve resources, even after you get in the escape plan is not locked down as we do not know what we are exactly running into. Good luck team, HQ out."

Reed grabbed the rope, throwing himself over the edge of the helicopter as he quickly descended towards the ground. His grip on the rope tightened as he got closer, slowing him enough so that he could drop without hindrance, quickly pulling his weapon up to scan for any hostiles. He began making his way towards the intersection of the alley and road, pressing himself against the wall of a building as he did so. The senior agent looked back and motioned for Banks to wait for him to cross. He peeks around the corner onto the street, eyeing a group of six armed militia men moving towards them. He grabbed his radio on his vest and pressed the button on the side, speaking into it clearly. "Agent Banks, do you read me? We have six locals approaching us quickly. Each appears to be brandishing an assault weapon. Wait where you are and attempt to hide yourself, over."

Pulling the radio from his vest, Banks presses the side bringing it up to his lips, "I read you loud and clear Reed.  If bullets start flying I'll take pot shots from my cover."
Steven rushes over to the side of a trashcan, crouching down so that he was out of sight.  Glancing around the corner of the can, he spotted the six locals before popping his head back under cover and waiting.

McHarvy pursed his lips, his fight or flight response taking over his feelings of embarrassment. He joined Abbot in the firefight with the man with the handgun. The man on the other side of the stairwell let out a yell of pain as one of Cold Day's bullets bit into his lower thigh. While the man was distracted with his leg, McHarvy demanded in spanish that he put the weapon down and slide it over to them. This man was not stupid, he slid the gun across the landing, and held his hands up in the air as he begged for his life in spanish. McHarvy closed the distance between them,i took his gun, and checked the man for the item.

"Intel is right. We have to cross through the slums. Come on," He told Abbot as he lead the way down the stairs.

“Didn’t have to tell me twice.” She smirks, walking over to the previous assailant and bashing the consciousness out of the man. She spots the discarded cylinder and picks it up, weighing it in her hand. “You know… one of these days, your get-too attitude is going to get you killed.” Her voice is a coarse mutter as she turns her head to already see Mcharvy charging further into the slums. Abbot shook her head. She didn’t think that such an open commission would attract this kind of operative. The kind that calls in the information everyone is privy to. The kind that pulls up small talk to keep his own sanity on a long ride to a live battlefield.
Then again, that’s exactly the kind of person who would answer the alluring call of an open operation as his first. She starts to follow behind him, bringing up her radio to her lips, “Overwatch, an object has been acquired from an armed individual. Presumed local. Object in question is metal container of cylindrical shape. Don’t know what’s inside nor if it has any relation to target. Calling it in just to make sure. Over.” She stows the cylinder in one of her outfit’s pockets and continues to move.

In response from overwatch "Well If there is a seperate object secured that we do not know the contents of, it is best to be careful. If something is contacted it should be isolated from the team seeing that it can just be a bomb or a plant, or some other crap. Without the proper technologies to test the object or to know if there are triggers. It would be best to secure the object in a way to prevent the recapture of the object or the damage of the team. It would be better if you sit back and watch so as not to be caught if the team is ambushed. Overwatch will keep an eye on you, try to get to the extraction point with what you have and secure it for the team. Only leave the team at the oppertune moment, you decide. On the case of your new friends there is a store two doors to the east, you can go through there and flank, the drones are getting into position and the data being gathered identifies that area as clear of people. Information will be tricky depending on the weather, there are 3 hours total until the possibility of storm. It will prevent drone cover and may cause issues with extraction. Be careful out there agents."
